Exercise ideas for a sunny Sunday

When the sun is shining on a Sunday, it's a perfect opportunity to get outside and be active. Here are some exercise ideas to make the most of the day:

Outdoor Cardio:

  • Go for a brisk walk or jog in your area or a nearby park.

  • Take your bike out for a scenic ride.

  • Try rollerblading or skateboarding in a safe area.

  • With Wimbledon, why not try a game of tennis or basketball with friends or family.

Hiking or nature Walk:

  • Find a local trail or nature reserve and go for a hike or leisurely walk amidst nature.

  • Enjoy the fresh air and take in the beautiful scenery.

  • If you're up for a challenge, choose a more challenging trail with elevation for a good workout.

Water Activities:

  • If you live near a beach or have access to a lake, consider swimming or engaging in water sports like paddleboarding, kayaking, or canoeing.

  • These activities provide a refreshing way to exercise and enjoy the water.

Outdoor Yoga or Pilates:

  • Find a peaceful spot outdoors, like a park or your backyard, and practice yoga or Pilates.

  • Use a yoga mat or a towel to create a comfortable surface.

  • Follow along with a video tutorial on sites such as YouTube or create your own routine.

Outdoor Circuit Training:

  • Create a circuit training routine that incorporates bodyweight exercises like push-ups, squats, lunges, and burpees. All movement will burn this calories.

  • Find a park with workout stations or use benches, stairs, or other available structures.

Gardening:

  • Use your sunny Sunday to tend to your garden or start a new one.

  • Digging, planting, weeding, and watering all involve physical activity and can provide a workout for your muscles.

  • Plus, you get the added benefit of enjoying a beautiful outdoor space and growing some of your own fruits and vegetables.

Remember to stay hydrated, wear sun lotion and listen to your body's limits while exercising outdoors. Adjust the intensity and duration of your activities based on your fitness level. Enjoy the sunshine and have a fantastic Sunday!
